How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone — No App Needed

Downloading TikTok videos on iPhone used to mean one of three bad options: TikTok's own save button (hello, watermark), a sketchy third-party app (hello, subscription pop-ups and App Store review roulette), or a shortcut that breaks every other iOS update.

There's a fourth option, and it's the simplest: your browser. GoTikSave runs entirely in Safari. No app to install, no shortcut to maintain, no profile to trust. Paste a link, download the video without watermark, and put it exactly where you want it: Photos, Files, or straight into an edit.

Works with tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com links · Files stream straight from the CDN — nothing stored on our servers.

How it works — 3 steps

1. Copy the video link in the TikTok app.

Open the video, tap Share, choose Copy Link. (On iPhone the share sheet is the curved arrow on the right side of the video.)

2. Paste it here in Safari and hit Download.

Open this page in Safari, paste the link into the box, and tap Download. Pick "Download MP4 (No Watermark)", up to 1080p.

3. Long-press the button, then move the file where you want it.

Long-press the download button and choose "Download Linked File." This matters on iOS: cross-origin CDN links often open a fullscreen player instead of downloading in Safari, so the long-press is the reliable move. Once it finishes, tap Safari's download icon, open the file, then Share. Save Video sends it to your Photos library; Save to Files keeps it in the Files app. That's it. The video is yours, watermark-free, in your camera roll.

iPhone specifics worth knowing

Where do the files actually go?

Safari on iPhone saves downloads to the Files app by default (On My iPhone → Downloads), not to Photos. That's why step 3 exists. One extra tap moves the video into your camera roll where every other app can see it. If you'd rather keep videos out of Photos, just leave them in Files.

Safari vs. Chrome on iPhone.

Both work. Every browser on iOS uses the same WebKit engine under the hood, so Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on iPhone behave like Safari for downloads. Use whichever you already have.

No App Store roulette.

Third-party downloader apps get pulled from the App Store regularly, taking your saved workflow with them. A browser tool can't be delisted from your phone. It's just a website, it costs nothing, and it works the same after every iOS update.

Works on iPad too.

Same steps, bigger screen. iPadOS Safari downloads to Files the same way; the Share sheet's Save Video option puts it in Photos.

Douyin links work the same.

Paste a Douyin share link with the Douyin tab selected. The iPhone flow is identical. Our Douyin video downloader explains the link formats.

Private on iOS, too.

No app means nothing running in the background: no tracking SDKs, no contacts permission prompts, no analytics phoning home. The video goes from TikTok's servers to your phone, and we don't keep a copy or a log.

Available formats

Format Quality Notes
MP4 video Up to 1080p, no watermark The video as published — Save Video puts it in Photos
MP3 audio Source quality The video's soundtrack, when the source provides it

Quality depends on the original upload. iPhone plays everything up to 1080p natively, so what you download is ready to watch, AirDrop, or drop into CapCut without conversion.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app to download TikTok videos on iPhone?

No. That's the entire point of this page. Everything happens in Safari (or any iOS browser): paste the link on this page, download, done. No App Store download, no subscription, no app taking up storage.

Where is my downloaded video? I can't find it.

Check the Files app first: On My iPhone → Downloads. Safari puts downloads there by default. If you want it in Photos, open the file from Files (or from Safari's download list), tap Share, and choose Save Video. For the full camera-roll walkthrough, see how to save TikTok videos to your camera roll.

Can I save directly to the Photos app?

Almost. It's one extra tap. After downloading, open the file, tap the Share button, and choose Save Video. iOS copies it into your Photos library at full quality.

Why does TikTok's own save button add a watermark?

TikTok stamps its logo and the poster's username onto videos saved through the app. It's branding and attribution. Our downloader fetches the clean source file instead, which is why there's no watermark. More on the why in why TikTok videos have watermarks.

Does this work on older iPhones?

If your iPhone runs a Safari version that supports downloads (iOS 13 and later, so basically any iPhone from the last several years), yes. The steps are the same.

Can I download private TikTok videos on iPhone?

No, and no tool can, on any device. Only public videos can be fetched. Private, deleted, or region-blocked videos return a clear error.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no payment, no "free trial." The downloader on this page is the whole product. We don't cap total downloads, though rapid back-to-back requests may trigger a brief rate-limit cooldown.

Will downloading drain my battery or eat storage?

A 30-to-60-second 1080p TikTok MP4 weighs about 5 to 20 MB. And because GoTikSave runs in a browser tab rather than as a background app, it uses zero battery once you close the tab.
